Beehive Peak, Cirque, and Spanish Creek April 25th 2009

Spent the day with Kartchner exploring the upper reaches of Beehive basin, and took a little jaunt into the head of Spanish Creek. Afer climbing the southwest couloir of Beehive we climbed the couloir headed to the summit. We made it to within about 20 feet of the summit, but did not have the right gear to cross firm snow above cliffs so we turned around. We skied the southwest couloir, and then headed to the peak north of Beehive, we climbed and skied it. We then dropped a little shot into spanish creek, climbed back out and skied another line in the Beehive cirque. Finished the day with mellow corn turns back to the car. We saw a few avalanches, within the new snow. This was not ours.
