Blackmore Backpacking August 6th - 7th 2010

What a great backpacking trip to Blackmore. Alec and I started hiking Friday night at about 5:10. We made it to the meadows below Blackmore in about 2 and a half hours. We then hiked around a bit. Alec saw elephant mountain, and was very adamant about climbing it. here is a video of us coming dwon from elephant. video We made it pretty close, but then we noticed a fairly large storm coming in, and went back down. The next morning we took off to climb Blackmore, and made it to the top in about an hour. We were pushing it a bit, to beat the storm. We spent just a brief moment on the top, because in the distance you could see a large storm coming. As we left the top, the storm came in, and rain and blew like crazy. There were times as we crossed the ridge, that I held on to Alec's hand, because I was worried he would get blown off the ridge. He handled it very well. It took us about 40 minutes to get off the top, and then about two hours to get back from camp to the parking lot. Here is a video of alec enduring the wind. video
