Bruneau River May 10th - 12th 2009

This was one of the most unique and beautiful canyons I have ever rafted in. The trip included Chris Boyd, Chris Tenbrink, Chuck, Lee, Ryan, and Clint. It was an adventure for me to just find the put-in. After following the old Western Whitewater instructions to the old put-in, I was given the correct instructions over the cell phone the next morning. Getting down to the river was certainly an adventure. The road was a pretty stout class IV-V. Thank goodness Chris and Chuck negotiated it like champs. The beauty of the canyon is displayed in the pictures. The first two days included numerous class III's which were fun and relaxing. The last day lived up to it's whitewater billing. 5-mile was a solid class IV with plenty of large and small rocks. In between the large and small rocks were plenty of holes, pour-overs and waves. The last rapid Wild Burro looked ominous coming up to it, with a big pillow coming off the wall, and a pretty stout wave to break through, but it was not too bad. The run out was filled with shallow waves and holes.
