Clark Fork July 11th-12th 2003

What a fun trip. John, Josh, Johnathon, Lily, Levi, Andy, Darren, Angie and Me. We stayed at the Forest Grove campsite on Friday night. We put-on Saturday around 12:00 and took off at about 5:15. We could have done it alot quicker, but we stopped for a while to eat, then we stopped for a while to scout and take pictures at Tumbleweed. We put in at the St. John's fishing access, so we could catch Rest Stop rapids. That turned out to be a little adventure, as the paddle raft surfed and Andy went in. Jonathon also took a bit of a swim here. There was a keeper hole at the bottom of the rapid that we all hit. There were some good wave trains, and some good drop offs in Shelf. The real fun of course started at the triple bridges where the waves were fairly big. There were about three good sized waves in there, I would say 8 to 10 feet. Next came Tumbleweed which was just one big drop into an okay sized hole. The last good rapid was fang, which had a couple good waves. Darren took a good swim somewhere after Tumbleweed when he got caught in a recirculating pour-over. This was Josh's first trip as a paddle raft captain, and I thought he and the crew did great.
