Middle Echo Canyon Zion National Park September 23rd 2008



Echo is quite the dark intimidating canyon. It really is not as big a deal as I thought it was going to be. However the darkness, and the slimy pools made it somewhat intimidating. The rappels were over in the first 1/4 of the canyon. After that it was just some scrambling and down climbing. Since we went later in the year, I think the pools were not quite as long as they were earlier in the year. With longer swims, this would have been a little more of an epic. Echo is a great canyon.
