Main Flathead River 09/01/2007
Beautiful water, great canyon, and some fun rapids. Peter and I enjoyed a great day on the Main Flathead below Polson. The 4 rapids came in quick succesion, and were fun and straight forward. The first rapid (the ledges?) I thought was the most difficult. The last rapid Buffalo rapids was probably the next in difficulty. This was a very low water run, with the flow at about 6,000. I am sure the character of the river changes with higher water.
