Sacajawea July 9th-10th

Getting some backpacking practice trips in with Alec. This one went great. We started hiking at 6:50, and were on top by 9:10. We watched the sunset from the top, and then hiked back to the saddle between Sacajawea and Hard Scrabble. We set up the tent in a pretty big wind event, and the wind never let up all night. It was pushing the tent down on top of us, but after a little something to eat, Alec went right to sleep. I probably slept for about an hour and a half all night. Alec did great, and carried the tent all the way to the saddle. The next morning the wind continued, and taking down the tent proved to be a little challenging. In the mayhem, Alec's sleeping pad got blown over the cliff, and we never saw it again. Not only did we see a great sunset, but we saw two mountain goats, a marmot, and a pretty neat lightening show that was far enough away that we did not worry too much. The hike out included some glissading down the snow, which was not really intentional, but Alec laughed during the whole thing. Alec did great!
