Whitetail Peak 12,548 feet Climb and Ski May 10th - 12th

A great trip into the Beartooths. This trip included a lot of hiking with full packs, great skiing, a fun couloir to climb, and enduring some really bad skinning and postholing. We started hiking at about 7 p.m. on the 10th. We hiked in a thick cloud, and a little bit of drizzle. The next morning we hiked for about an hour and a half to the base of the switchbacks that lead up to sundance Pass, here we stashed our camping gear and continued with our skis and climbing gear. We were on top of the couloir by 2 p.m., and on top by about 2:15. After a little while on top, we skied down, and got to the bottom by 3:30. It was a great day. That night we just hung out and enjoyed being in the mountains. The next morning we left at 8:50, and 2 hours later we were back to the car. We noticed a lot of potential for glisse mountaineering in those mountains.
